Be a Catalyst!

Help from one new friend and one friend of long-standing.

First, I watched a new Paul Colligan video, New Media Content Creation Model 2.0  ( http://snurl.com/odg4z )  and that kind of mixed in my mind with a blog post from Bob Dignard-Fung from http://freedomwebinars.com the post URL: http://dignardfung.com/

After you have had a chance to watch and read the above, you will have a better chance of understanding what I am about to tell you.

I have been doing a lot of research on social media search tools and resources with a focus primarily on Twitter. As a result of that research, I have become more and more aware of the need for a clear sense of "strategy" in one's personal life as well as in the context of a company doing business on the internet.

This whole new openness of communication, questions of privacy and one's personal challenges with knowing how to effectively proceed if we choose to participate in any part of social media. Companies have similar challenges but with the added complexities of company employees and their roles and relationships vis-a-vis personal and company participation in this dynamic and developing world.

But the key is to prepare - individually and corporately.  What do you want to accomplish and how do you best proceed to accomplish that.  How can you be a catalyst for others and for your company and still operate in a manner beneficial and rewarding for yourself. My suggestion: think about it and write down your thoughts. Formalize them. Forewarned is forearmed.

Perhaps as a kid you or a friend may have said to another, "Watch your mouth!"

Whether a college coach or a President, all are well advised to "Watch your mouth!"

That applies doubly in a social media context!
